Hidden between the mountains, on the road from Rethymnon, via Armeni to the South coast, this green oasis can be found.

Spili is situated at the bottom of a steep rock face and it is a place abounded with water and trees.

In the center you’ll find the Venetian wells, where the fresh well water spouts through 16 lion mouths.

The main street of Spili, with its amiable taverns and embroidery shops, has a good atmosphere. You will probably notice many papa’s (priests in training) in and around this little town. This is due to the presence of the residence of an important bishop. The white palace on the border of the town is a seminary for priests.
