Xerocampos is situated in the far-eastern part of Crete. Here the beautiful blue sea meets the white sandy beaches and the impressive rocky shores. In our opinion this place is the number 1 on Crete. It is a well-hidden secret of the local people and has therefore not (yet) been discovered by many tourists. You will find some accommodations here, simple but clean and some taverns which, (as you can probably guess) offer a lot of fresh fish.

“When you’re in need of tranquility and enjoy swimming, snorkeling and lazing on the beach, this can be the place for you.”

Relax during the day and let yourself be treated in the evening, on a terrace near the beach, where you’re still able to find good and inexpensive food. The mentality of these people is still traditionally hospitable and it is very easy to make friends here. After a visit to Xerocampos you will definitely want to return another time! From here it is also a nice opportunity to take some trips to Sitia and/or Ierapetra, while a visit to the valley of the dead and Zakros, with its impressive excavations near the beach, should not be forgotten either.
