Tavene Petres in Dramia
On the main road from Rethymnon to Chania, you will see after 11 km, opposite the closed petrol station of Mamiadakis, Tavern Petres at the right side of the road.
This unique restaurant is very popular by the local people and is therefore busy in the evenings, especially in the weekends.
They have a big variety of Cretan dishes and the prices of the meat, chicken and fish are measured by weight.
Father Dimitris is busy for the entire evening at the BBQ, while mother prepares her delicious dishes in the kitchen.
It is the only tavern we know that are in charge of everything. Themselves breed the chickens and rabbits etc. and on the piece of land opposite the tavern they grow all the vegetables and herbs they need.
Try their paidakia (lamb chops) they are really very good.
